HEY! Here is your easy step by step guide to flawless, easy to apply make up for the day time whether you are going to work, an interview or just to see friends.
No time to start over again before a big night out?! Don't panic! I've got you covered we will turn this into an evening look as well ... Now find yourself some great lighting and work on those angles because it's SELFIE TIME!!!!!!
TIPS. Don’t set this look with and powder if you want to turn it into a night time look later on in the day. If you suffer from a shiny T-zone, then I recommend using a matte primer. All products are mac unless told otherwise.
DAY LOOK
Step 1. I used Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow in ‘blonde’ and used my angled brush to apply the product.
Step 2. Spray mac fixing spray on your buffing foundation brush, I used my real techniques expert face brush, and apply your foundation. I used Laura Mercier fluid in shades ‘butterscotch’ and ‘ivory’ mixed as I have a bit of a tan. Usually I use shade ‘cashew’. This foundation is very lightweight and great for day time.
Step 3. Using a flat foundation brush, mark out where you want definition and contour. I used the darker foundation out of the two that I mixed for my face (butterscotch) and a little bit of match master from mac number 8.5 (you only need a TINY amount of this). Blend out with the buffing foundation brush you used at the start. Don’t buff it out with the brush you applied the dark shade of foundation with, otherwise you will end up with the darker shade all over – and you don’t want this!
Step 4. I dabbed Nars concealer in shade ‘vanilla, light’ under my eyes. Don’t wipe the product, gently dab with your finger.
Step 5. Cover the whole eye lid with mac ‘orb’ shadow. Take it right up just below the brow.
Step 6. Take ‘soft brown’ into the crease and the outer eye and blend it out. Don’t take this shade as high as ‘orb’. Keep it lower, near the crease.
Step 7. Apply ‘crystal avalanche’ in the inner corner and brow arch.
Step 8. Curl lashes ☺ I applied Este Lauder ‘double wear’ mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
Step 9. I used mac ‘modesty’ on my lips for a neutral shade.
EVENING LOOK
SO, Now you look totally fabulous through out the day lets make sure you look equally as fab during the night.
To convert this look into an evening look
Use a damp sponge or spray your buffing brush with fixing spray and just blot away any excess oil you may have formed during the day and to remove any lines that may have appeared such as laughing lines or wrinkles around the forehead.
Step 1. Apply a mix of ‘brown script’ and a small amount of ‘embark’ into crease of the eye. Create a line from the arch to the outer corner. Use ‘rule’ to blend out.
Step 2. Apply black pencil liner in the bottom water line. Blend the liner out with a smudge brush using shade ‘embark’. This will look quite harsh under the eye so keep it quite tight to the lash line. I used mac brush 217 to blend it out with ‘soft brown’.
Step 3. Use a gel liner to do your top liner. Use ‘carbon’ to blend this out with a smudge brush so that it does not create any harsh lines. This is great if you are no good at winged liner or just do not suit winged eyeliner (unfortunately like myself).
Step 4. I used Laura Mercier setting powder for under my eyes and my face.
Step 5. I used Marc Jacobs light filtering contour powder to add more definition. The darker tone is an ashy colour which is what you want for the lower part of your cheek bone. You then want a bronze/warmer tone to put on top and around the top of your forehead and a small amount around your jaw line.
Step 6. I used ‘soft and gentle’ on the high part of my cheek bone. Don’t take this product under your eyes or too far down on your cheeks.
Step 7. Outline your lips with a darker tone. I used mac ‘in control’.
Step 8. I cannot go out at night without them, but you can do as you wish. Time for lashes! I use Ardell ‘wispies’.
TA DAH!
You Look Fabulous Darling!
